Who We Are

The Learning Lab for Elder Care Technologies and Augustana Care

Recognizing that emerging technology can play a pivotal role in helping older adults live independently, Augustana Care launched the Learning Lab for Eldercare Technologies in April 2017.

Augustana Care is a non-profit organization that provides senior housing, health care and community-based services to older generations and others in need in Minnesota and Colorado.

Made possible by a Live Well at Home Grant from the Minnesota State Department of Human Services, as well as generous support from other area foundations* the Learning Lab provides tools and training for older Minnesotans and their caregivers to live life fully and independently. Most importantly, the welcoming environment instills confidence in seniors who may be unfamiliar with technology.

The Cora McCorvey Health and Wellness Center

in the Near North neighborhood of Minneapolis, the Learning Lab is housed on the second floor of  the Cora McCorvey Health and Wellness Center, the crown jewel of a neighborhood revitalization and hub of activity for area senior residents.

The Center was developed in collaboration with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority with stimulus funding obtained in 2016. The environmentally-friendly building is 69,597 square feet in size and is fully accessible, providing a wide variety of senior services and recreational opportunities to all seniors and residents in Minnesota.

Services include a YMCA, an adult day program, a home health and hospice organization, a medical and dental clinic, rehabilitation therapies and more.
